PETROSVIBRI'S TARGETS

Petrosvibri's primary targets are to secure the reliability of gas supplies and diversify Switzerland's energy dependance among several types of sources and suppliers.

From research carried out in the Chablais area (in the cantons of Vaud and Valais), the presence of liquid or gaseous hydrocarbons seems likely. Following public consultation, deep drilling started in late November 2009. The first exploratory well is located in the Rhône valley, in Noville (canton of Vaud). 

How long the research will last depends on the geology. During the next 18 to 24 months, it will be possible to determine if the new prospect may be developed.

The successful completion of the drilling phase would enable the exploitation of hydrocarbon reservoir in the Lake Geneva region: This would be a huge asset for Western Switzerland indeed.
